Modernising existing systems
An old system can still be valuable even if it is hard to work with. I tidy it up, speed it up and extend it — whether it is built on spreadsheets, an outdated database or old in-house software. Not everything needs a rewrite.
When to come to me with this
- The company runs on one big spreadsheet that only one person understands.
- The old system is slow, but its data and rules are valuable.
- Whoever wrote the system is gone, and there is no documentation.
- You need a new feature or integration, but nobody dares touch the code.
What it includes
- an assessment: what exists, what works well, and what causes the trouble
- replacing spreadsheet-based records, or connecting them to a web system
- modernising old databases and internal systems, including data migration
- speeding up slow or awkward applications
- new features and integrations on top of the existing system
How it works
We go step by step so daily work never stops: first we replace or fix the part causing the most trouble, while the rest keeps running the old way. The spreadsheet often does not disappear, it just moves: the system produces it as a one-click export.
Examples from my work
- KlipThe attendance sheet is built from the phones’ data and exported to Excel in one click — whoever keeps working in Excel does not have to switch.Case study →
- adversariaWhat used to arrive by email, message and phone now arrives per client, tied to its own task.Case study →

Price
For larger projects I give a fixed price split into milestones. Day rate: HUF 100–120k, hourly: HUF 17,500. The first hour is free: we talk through what you need.
Questions
Do we have to stop working during the modernisation?
No. We replace the system piece by piece, only one part changes at a time, and the rest keeps working as usual.
